MEET JORDAN & STEPH · OUR STORY
The hunt started long before the website.
Hi, we’re Jordan and Steph. We’re a husband-and-wife reselling team, and The Weekend Hunt is where we share our secondhand discoveries, the stories behind them, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.
For Jordan, it all began more than 30 years ago, hunting for treasure at garage sales with his grandma. Today, we’ve been finding items to resell together for over a decade—and we still love the feeling that the next stop could turn up something unexpected.

It started with my grandma
I’ve been reselling since I was a kid—more than 30 years now. Some of my earliest memories of treasure hunting are going to garage sales with my grandma. She’s the one who got me hooked on looking through other people’s things and discovering something interesting that might otherwise have been overlooked.
That curiosity stayed with me. The best part has always been the hunt: spotting something unusual, figuring out what it is, and discovering why someone else might value it. Even after decades, I’m still learning about new categories and the stories behind the things we find.

For more than 10 years, we’ve hunted together
What started as a childhood interest became something Steph and I have shared for more than 10 years. We source items to resell, research unfamiliar finds, and run an established eBay business along with live Whatnot auctions.
Some days that means books and advance reader copies. Other times it’s cassette tapes, CDs, vintage collectibles, video games, clothing or something neither of us expected to bring home. We don’t limit ourselves to just one category—that’s part of the fun.

The thrill of finding something overlooked.
We love the discovery side, but we’ve also learned how much work goes into selling successfully: researching completed sales, testing where possible, taking honest photos, organizing inventory, and shipping items carefully.
We share those practical details because reselling isn’t just about an exciting find—it’s everything you do next.
Life outside the hunt
We live in the Chicago area, and when we are not sourcing, listing or shipping, we love exploring new places together. Galena, Illinois, is one of our favorites for a getaway, and this photo of us enjoying Fourth of July fireworks is a great reminder that a good adventure does not always involve a thrift store.

We also love visiting Orlando and Central Florida. Steph is a big Disney fan, and spending time at the parks is one of our favorite ways to relax and enjoy a change of scenery.
Both of us work full time alongside our reselling business. Steph is a nanny, and Jordan works in advertising with a focus on PPC marketing. We are also Chicago sports fans, especially the Bulls; Jordan has held season tickets for nearly 13 years. Cars are another big interest of his, from classic dream-garage ideas to modern performance cars.
Why we built The Weekend Hunt
We wanted a place that brings both sides of our world together: the entertainment of the hunt and useful advice for fellow resellers. You’ll find real items and equipment we use, educational guides, interesting categories we’re researching, and resources for planning your next garage- or estate-sale trip.
Our inventory stays on eBay and Whatnot. This website is where you can learn, explore and follow along—not a separate checkout for our secondhand items.
Come along for the next find
Whether you’ve been reselling for decades, are just starting to check sold comps, or simply love browsing vintage treasures, you’re welcome here. We hope The Weekend Hunt gives you a reason to explore something new.
